What a daylight hour means on this site
A daylight hour is any booking that runs while it is still light, from a late morning through to dusk, and it costs exactly what the same hour costs at night.
The phrase is used throughout this site and it means something narrow: a booking whose whole length falls between a late morning and dusk. In Amsterdam that stretch changes shape across the year, running from about eight in the morning to around half past four in December and from roughly six to nearly ten in June, which is why the site talks about light rather than naming a fixed pair of times.
What it changes
Less than people assume, and all of it on your side of the door. The room is brighter, so curtains become a decision rather than a formality. The building is busier, so corridors carry more noise and lifts stop more often. The day has more of itself left afterwards, which is the reason a good many guests choose it. And you are rested rather than at the end of a long evening, which changes the energy of an hour more than any of the rest.
What it leaves alone
The figure, first of all. There is no daylight discount and no night surcharge anywhere in the network; an hour at noon is charged precisely what the same hour costs at four in the morning. Her journey still takes the same forty to sixty minutes. The deposit rule is the same rule. What a session includes is decided by the therapist, before it starts, exactly as it would be at any other hour.
Who it suits
Chiefly the visitor whose evenings are already claimed, by colleagues, by clients or by family, and whose one genuinely free stretch is the middle of the day.
